Work has been treating me well, since i'm in the training phrase, gets dreadful at times, but well, which work doesn't!? But I'm loving the various attachments and modules, I'm just like a sword in the process of refining!
Another note, I finally got conferred with my degree (like finally when I finished my programme in Feburary). The convocation wasn't the least bit impressive but I'm glad that I'm manage to catch up and see a lot of old friends, it will be good to have such convocation once in a while haha.
Now I just need to save up for my first car and some nifty trinklets for me to play with(oakley shades, tag heuer watches etc lol).
Peace, Leo

The past week has been busy with settling admin stuffs and getting used to the training. Time Flies! Just as I got home on Fri evening, now I have to get back to the academy soon, on a positive note, I've learnt a lot of new knowledge over the past week and felt that my life is much more enriched and the job is not exactly easy.
I have been tasked to head CIP programmes for me and my colleagues so I've spent some time trying to find more info on the type of CIP programmes we can get involve and on how to go about doing it.
If you have any lobang of any CIP programmes, please let me know by commenting on the post or leave a note on my tagboard, many thanks in advance!

The last few days have been very enriching, I've learnt a lot from the orientation about how the organisation works and have a better idea of how each departments function and what expertise I could tap on in the future when I start working after my trainings (provided if I could still remember) haha.
Gonna have a party tomorrow and actual training starts on monday, anxiety, excitement, everything comes to me once again, oh how great life can be (:

In another few days time, I'll be embarking on a new phrase of my life, my full time career. I'm filled with a mix of feelings, excited, nervous, lost, well its pretty much very mixed feelings.
And to thank my guarantors, Ryan and Eric, I gave them a little treat yesterday at vienna international buffet, its just a small meal of appreciation. The buffet was great! But Eric mentioned that next buffet outing we should go the line when he can get his uncle to give us some discount!
I just hope everything will be smooth and ok in my new career, the almighty up there please bless me!
*side note, I want 6 packs so badly, it aint even funny, time for more harsh regimes and diet.

I just realised I havent been blogging for some time ever since the vietnam trip, theres nothing really inspirational for me to blog about, haha.
Life for the past few months has been dull, plain. With hitting the gym, doing temp assignment here and there, meeting up with friends for bday and such, playing some games and thats about it.
But one good news I got is my final confirmation for my work, and my training will start on 21st of June. Currently I'm trying to settle my signings (theres pretty much a few procedures) and of course to meet up with people that I havent seen for ages such as the npbs hr bunch (theresa they all), the MPD guys from NS (Benedict Kasster they all) and not to forget John who have been missing for quite a while lol.
I'm still hesitating if I should participate in the stan chart marathon this year end cause I'll still be in training, but I was thinking like 'what the hell, just sign and see how closer to the day itself' haha.
And yea, I'm trying to train up my fitness prior to the start of my training, so have been running/gyming quite a bit over the last few weeks, hopefully the training will be smooth for me.
I'll try to get some pictures up, but the pics are all on facebook so, oh well.
Cheers,
Leo

my blog seems pretty empty after my vietnam trip so i thought i'll do a little update.
Went to work for 2 days this week for circus maximus for a IBM event at resort world sentosa's ballroom, the compass ballroom, man the place is damn grand and huge! Work was tiring and for the first time ever, we only had a mac chicken burger for the whole damn day! On a positive note, I've got to know a bunch of youngers (age 18 to 20), they made the 25 years old me feels like some big brother and at the same time it makes me wondering what the hell i am doing with these youngsters
However I receive the letter to notify that i cleared all the interviews on Wednesday (yea man!) And I went for the medical check up yesterday, everything is normal cept my weight is a little bit high where doc say it doesnt really matter as your fit (heng ah).
And tomorrow i have a JB trip with my parents to visit my aunt and seafood feast in the evening. Looking forward to thursday's job fair to meet the guys to talk crap and hang around a little.

Getting frustrated and damn bored of what I do daily, clean the house, play everquest 2, hit the gym, I decided to go somewhere and explore. Wanted to ask my friends along but no 1 has the time nor $$. And I was deciding somewhere cheap like thailand and vietnam. Bangkok is full of riots nowadays so I thought its better to stay away from Bangkok for a while and thus the destination i chose was Ho Chi Minh City, Saigon, Vietnam.
It was pretty exciting and I've anticipated this trip pretty much as I don't travel overseas much often as my family doesn't travel. And its the first time i travel by myself overseas, and to a country like vietnam where Eric told me was full of pickpockers etc and I have to be very careful (which was exactly the opposite man, the place is actually pretty safe I thought).
I had a 730 flight and the check in starts at 530, latest i can reach will be 630 or so which is immpossible even if i get the first train in the morning, and wanting it to be a budget trip, I dont wanna grab an early morning cab that can cost up to $30+.
I actually went there on wednesday night last train (i know i'm crazy). Equipped with a 12412412521 years old novel/storybook i had, I went there on the last train and manage to grab some popeye chicken haha.
When i reached budget terminal at 2am or so, I was like, maybe i could explore for a while.... I didnt expect you could see the whole terminal with just one look, its just........ damn budget to me. (well its the budget terminal). The dfs, the boarding... feels way too budget to me too, I guess its gonna be the last time i'll travel with tiger airways, jetstar/airasia for me next time round.
Upon reaching saigon, the airport was much better than I imagined, its actually pretty decent, at least better than the budget terminal. Head out to grab a cab to my guest house (vy khan guest house, $17 usd per night with ac, water heater, tv and a very clean room). The first taxi driver I met was telling me $15usd, when my paper stated 7 to 8 usd. But I read forum and got notice that if i grab a vinasun cab from departure hall i can get to district 1 for 80000 dong, around 3usd and true enough, i got a vinasun cab and reach pham ngu lao @ 90+k dong, i gave the taxi driver 100k, which is around sgd 7.80, or 5+ usd.
After reaching the guest house, had a talk with the host and she told me where to visit, i went to place my stuffs, change and head out to have my first pho and to ben tahn market.
Ben tahn market reminds me of the old tiong bahru market with lotsa clothes and accessories stores and food, drinks etc all mixed into 1. It wasnt that big, so i manage to scout through it pretty fast.
After which i randomly strolled around to the various places of interests, passing by schools, buildings and such. And outside of the school i came upon some food that smells really really good. I have no idea what its called, so i called it the vietnam rojak, cause the ingredients is pretty much quite messy.
After walking for around 2-3 hrs, got pretty tired with the hot weather and went for some cold pepsi and food. I had this traditional stuff which i have no idea what its called again but its freaking nice too (all the food i had in vietnam was nice to me and i wonder why)
After which I got a local to get me around his bike to visit various points of interest (i gave him 300000 dong (est $22) which i find it too much for the local prices, but jugding from the point that I might be his only customer for the week, I just treat as helping 1 of the less fortunates in vietnam)
Went to visit museum, chinatown, temples, some shopping etc etc and eventually got back to my guest room @ 6+7pm after which I bath, rest a little and head out to explore the night scenary. Found a few bars, some looked sleazy lol. What i find interesting is that all the bars had their chairs facing the traffics and most foreigners liked to sit facing the traffic and have their beer like to enjoy the night scene, pretty relaxing.
As i was alone instead of drinking, i went to scout for dinner and snacks etc and take a long stroll around the district before calling it a night to rest for my early 1 day tour (setting off @ 8am) the day after.
Before the 1 day tour, i met an english man, Michael from london staying at the same guest house as i do. Got to know that he was an ex lawyer, been travelling for the last 7 mths to various places such as africa, singapore (yes my country) etc etc. Pretty cool to hear his stories of how he felt sick of his profession and trying to seek what he really want in life, it inspired me to a certain extent. It was great talking with him and such but we had different schedules, he was on the 1/2 day tour and i was on the 1 day tour so we parted ways shortly.
The one day tour brought us to a handicrafts manufacturing factory whereby all the handicrafts are handmade by handicapped people and their work was amazing, if i was loaded or richer, i'll gladly by a few pieces from them to support their resolution to work for a living despite being handicapped, /salute
The next spot we headed to was the Karl Dia temple (a special religion that is only in vietnam i think) to be in time for their ritual, service. It was quite a sight, more interesting was the amount of tourists that came to watch the ritual, as if its like a movie lol.
Lunch was at a rundown restaurant at the outskirt of saigon before heading to the cu chi tunnels. Had a sour fish soup that taste a tad too sour for me, but its still great!
The cu chi tunnel is a tunnel dugged by the vietnamese soldiers during the 1970s vietnam war. It serve as a complex system to confuse and hunt enemies using strategic points and such etc (more info at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C%E1%BB%A7_Chi_tunnels)
The tunnels are damn narrow, i had to duckwalk most of the time and its freaking hot, but it was cool exploring it and examining various traps and weapons deployed during the vietnam war, which constantly reminds us that war is a terrible thing to have. And with the tour guide being a vietnam war survivor, he kept saying, 'you are very lucky, we all are very lucky, there is no war, we are all similar, you me, english, asian, all similar, you smile, i smile, we are all similar because we have a human heart'. His words may sound corny but I can feel he definitely said it with his whole heart and soul and it touched my soul and makes me feel....hmm enriched?
During the trip I met 2 backpackers, 1)John, a a management consultant that just finished his MBA exchange with chulalongkong university and is on a 1 month vacation around asia. 2)Frank, an ex journalist from Denmark, he said that work opportunities is pretty low now thus hes travelling while waiting for the market to get better.
After the tunnels, we met for food and beer. We had beer at 4 places (i know its crazy), 1)bar, Saigon green @ 35k dong per bottle, 2)some random joint, fresh beer @ 5000dong per mug 3)cafe, saigon red @13k dong per bottle, and finally 4)fresh beer @ 12000dong per LITRE. Thats quite a lot of beer for me, but Frank and John still looked pretty good at the end of the day lol. In between the beer hunting, we also had yogurt at yogurt space recommended by John (hes a yogurt fan) but i must say the yogurt i had was good and cheap (app. $2.80).
John got his friend who is working as an expatritate in vietnam along too, laura, shes working as a speech therapist in vietnam and it seems like a pretty relaxing job for her. Her working hrs are like 5-6hrs a day only! And she says she has been clubbing etc but she spent like $500 usd only for 6 weeks and most amazing thing was her water bill turns out to be $1 usd, man living in vietnam can be damn cheap, a place to consider for retirement i guess haha.
The last day was just having breakfast at my favourite restaurant, hhl restaurant @ pham ngu lao street. And another round of shopping @ ben tahn market and other shops for souveniors. (first come first serve! whoever meet me first i shall give them lol)
Overall the trip has breath new life into me, it made me a little bit more appreciative towards life after hearing stories from the vietnam war survivor tour guides, the backpackers' stories of seeking new resolutions in life etc. I hope i have transformed into a better man and I definitely look forward to longer trips next round (which should be after i start working).
May there be peace in everyone's heart in any troubled times, Leo

Eons, since I last blog, was just plain lazy and nothng out of the extraordinary happens anyway haha. Yest the nation celebrates and the guys had our own celebration at Mushroom pot. Calvin told us theres student price but there aint any on a public holiday! It cost us a whopping $36 of course i try to stuff myself as much as possible lol.
I'll definitely visit again but, only on weekday after noon with student price where the total bill will only be $20+ lol. After which headed to this Club July place at Bishan stadium, its some wulu ktv bar filled with old uncle and aunties, but theres some cute girls at the next table.
Wanted to sing but the uncle and aunties seems to be hogging onto the ktv system so only sang a little.
I wanna KTV SO MUCH! haha

Gonna sign up for stan chart 09 soon before i missed my loyal runner discount, come lets run together! I'll have my camera during the run, if you see me or I see you, lets take some pictures together during the run!

It was a very hectic week this week, waking up at 5am on tues and wed to go for the Sun Microsystem Open Jive events work at Simei ITE. It was tiring but interesting to see the various applications submitted by the students.
Me with the main character representing Sun Microsystem, they call him the 'dude' -_-
And I received another Police Recall for shooting and I had to bring forward it to next wednesday cause the recall date clash with my WIL 2 class on 15th Jul.
Yesterday the xover guys wanted to celebrate nich's bday and so we head down to dbl o, nich got down pretty early, but air got down earlier, damn funny man. More pics are on facebook if you wanna know the happenings lol.
The 12 yrs+ of friendship for the most of us. hahahaha

Caught this movie with some of the council peeps yesterday.
My Review : This is a sweet lovey dovey fun movie that can serve as a form for entertainment for the couples and the girls. Becareful though, guys may have 2 outcome after watching the movie; 1) become a great jerk or 2) become a great man. You'll understand if you watch the show :)
Quotes from the show: 'Love is just magcial comfort food for the weak', 'In a relationship, the one who care less has the more power', 'true love is a myth', 'you have to risk love'
Who should watch it? : Couples definitely and likely single girls gang.
Who should avoid it? : Single Guys Gang (you might become gay after watching), or guys/girls with more than one girlfriend/boyfriend (you might end up being more confused)

I have been busy for the past 2 days, was working as an event assistant for this events company. I actually worked for 2 event, 1 was the sun microsystem's new system launch @ st regis and the other was the launch of fedora, a platform for linux.
The people were pretty cool to work with, fun, jovious but they know to work when its time to work.
The launch for sun microsystem's new system were actually hosted at St Regis, the legendary 6 star hotel, but it doesnt really look so 6 star to us when we entered. On the event day, the lunch does taste like a 6 star hotel buffet lunch though, the food was great, pretty awesome, and I cant stop eating their meditarian grilled vegetables.
Next week there will be another event at Simei ITE, I suppose it'll be another pretty fun event.
Work aside, results are fully released, I've not done well this sem. Just pretty normal grades, average grades i suppose, 1 DI 3 CRs.... and I've lost track of my degree with distinction... but what felt funny was that, I do not feel that whatever I wrote for my paper was any less substantial to any paper I attempted before such as OT and HMT which i got HD and DI. Was it that I became less proficient in writing quality materials or is there a flaw in the RMIT system? I just had to try my best to get 2 HD 2 DI next semester to secure a degree with dist I guess, even if I don't.... life goes on and I don't believe a degree with dist or not determine's one man's worth.

Today was the audition for Singapore Idol and so with a good sleep and a good breakfast, I make my way down and reach there around 930am. The queue was like holy smoke man, freaking long. In the end, I didnt get to audition but got another date and time to come back for the audition after queuing for like 8hours!
But it was an interesting 8 hours looking at different people, different things, different events like how the previous idol season finalist go around and disturb people, I GOT INTERVIEWED, like wah, I see them going around interviewing those 'INTERESTING' characters, I dont think I'm that interesting man. I also got to know some very interesting chaps, 2 jc kids that just randomly disappeared and isaciah (a friendly myanmar guy), nugger and ol shit, I cant rem the last guy's name, but I'll get to see isaciah, nugger and the last guy next Saturday (13 Jun at 11am).
Nearing the Registration stand!(More pics on Facebook)
After the thingy I went to meet sherwin and we headed down to marina to find Ginkiat and his friend. I havent seen him in years man, good that we can meet up. And got to know his friend, pearly. A sweet young 18 girl who is very mature and can converse very well, nice to meet her and oh she likes to drink MILO + HALF BOILED EGG (i thought that was an interesting way to eat half boiled eggs, but I don't think I'll ever try lol)
This is pearly, ok a bit unglam but haha, ginkiat was running away from the cam.
